Assessmate

Fair Use & Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: June 6, 2026·Last Updated: June 6, 2026

This Fair Use and Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets out how Assessmate (https://assessmateai.com) may be used responsibly and fairly. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to follow this Policy in addition to our Terms of Service. Both documents must be read and accepted together.

Assessmate is operated by Abdul Aziz Shah, doing business as Zenen Labs ("we," "us," or "our").

1. About This Policy

Assessmate is an AI-powered assessment and quiz generation platform built to help educators, trainers, students, and professionals create high-quality assessments from their own content — quickly and at scale.

We want every user to get the most out of the platform. This Policy exists to protect that experience: to prevent automated abuse, ensure system stability for all users, and make sure that "unlimited" means genuinely unlimited for normal human-driven use — not a loophole for bulk automation or reselling.

We have designed this Policy to be fair and transparent. We do not impose arbitrary monthly quotas on paid plans. Instead, we ask that usage falls within patterns consistent with individual, good-faith use of the platform.

2. What "Unlimited" Means

Paid plans on Assessmate that include "unlimited" assessment generation are unlimited in the everyday sense — you will not hit a hard ceiling through normal use. However, "unlimited" is defined as individual, human-initiated usage within reasonable bounds that comfortably accommodates the vast majority of our users' needs.

"Unlimited" does NOT mean:

  1. Automated or scripted bulk generation via bots, scripts, or third-party automation tools;
  2. API access beyond what is expressly granted under your plan;
  3. Generating assessments at a rate or volume that degrades service quality or infrastructure performance for other users;
  4. Generating outputs for resale or redistribution as a standalone product or service;
  5. Sharing a single account across multiple individuals or organisations to pool usage.

If you are a heavy but legitimate user and are concerned about whether your usage patterns qualify, please contact us — we are happy to discuss your needs and find the right solution.

3. Acceptable Use

The following uses of Assessmate are encouraged and fully supported:

  • Uploading your own documents, notes, course materials, PDFs, URLs, or other content you own or have rights to, and generating quizzes and assessments from that content.
  • Using generated assessments for personal learning, self-testing, classroom teaching, corporate training, or professional development.
  • Sharing assessments you have generated with your own students, trainees, or team members.
  • Embedding or distributing assessments you have created on your own website, LMS, or internal platform, where you hold the necessary rights to the underlying content.
  • Reviewing, editing, and customising AI-generated questions before use — we strongly encourage this.
  • Generating assessments at a regular, sustained pace consistent with your professional or educational workflow.
  • Contacting us if you anticipate a temporary spike in usage (e.g., a large course launch) — we can accommodate legitimate needs.

4. Prohibited Use

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

4.1 Automated and Non-Human Usage

  • Using bots, scripts, scrapers, automation frameworks, headless browsers, or any non-human means to access or drive the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Integrating with the Service via undocumented or unauthorised means to programmatically generate assessments at scale.
  • Repeatedly triggering generation jobs in rapid succession in a way that mimics automated behaviour.

4.2 Account and Access Abuse

  • Sharing your account credentials with other individuals, organisations, or teams to pool access under a single subscription.
  • Creating multiple accounts (free or paid) to circumvent usage limits, access additional free credits, or avoid enforcement actions.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or providing access to your account to third parties.

4.3 Content Violations

  • Uploading content that you do not own or do not have a right to use, including copyrighted material uploaded without authorisation.
  • Generating assessments from third-party proprietary content (e.g., textbooks, exam question banks, licensed materials) and redistributing the output commercially without appropriate rights.
  • Using the platform to produce, distribute, or store content that is unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, obscene, or in violation of our Terms of Service.

4.4 Integrity and Academic Honesty

  • Using Assessmate to produce assessments intended to deceive examiners, instructors, or accreditation bodies.
  • Submitting AI-generated assessment content as your own original work where such use is prohibited by your organisation's academic integrity or professional ethics policies.
  • Facilitating cheating or other breaches of your organisation's integrity policies using content from the platform.

4.5 Competitive and Harmful Use

  • Using the Service or its outputs to develop, train, benchmark, or improve a competing AI-powered platform or model.
  • Systematically extracting, scraping, or reproducing output at scale for the purpose of building a dataset or knowledge base.
  • Any use intended to harm, misrepresent, or defraud Assessmate, its users, or third parties.

5. Rate Limiting and Throttling

5.1 To maintain system stability and a quality experience for all users, Assessmate implements dynamic rate limiting. Limits are applied on a per-minute, per-hour, and per-day basis and are designed to be invisible to users engaged in normal, human-driven usage.

5.2 If your usage significantly exceeds typical patterns — for example, due to a burst of automated requests — you may be automatically throttled or temporarily limited. These limits are adaptive: users who have been within normal bounds in the preceding period receive higher allowances.

5.3 If you believe your account has been throttled incorrectly, or if you anticipate a legitimate spike in usage (e.g., a large course onboarding or event), please contact us in advance. We are happy to accommodate genuine high-volume needs on a case-by-case basis.

6. Content Accuracy and Your Responsibility

6.1 Assessmate uses large language model AI to generate questions and assessments. While we aim for high quality, AI- generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outputs unsuitable for your specific context.

6.2 You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing all AI-generated content before using it in any educational, professional, or public-facing context. We strongly recommend that all generated assessments be reviewed by a subject matter expert prior to deployment.

6.3 Always verify AI-generated answers against authoritative, trusted sources — particularly for high-stakes or regulated contexts such as medical, legal, or professional certification content.

7. Organisation and Team Use

7.1 If you are using Assessmate on behalf of an organisation or educational institution, you are responsible for ensuring that all users within your organisation comply with this Policy and our Terms of Service.

7.2 Team or multi-user access (where available) must be used only by authorised individuals within your organisation. Sharing access outside of your licensed user seats is prohibited.

7.3 Organisation-level or institution-level use cases with high volumes or custom requirements are best served by contacting us directly to discuss an appropriate plan.

8. Enforcement

8.1 We actively monitor usage patterns to detect violations of this Policy. If we determine that your usage is in violation, we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

  1. Automatically throttle or rate-limit your account;
  2. Temporarily suspend your account pending investigation;
  3. Permanently terminate your account without refund where the violation is material or repeated.

8.2 We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action where the situation is ambiguous or where we believe the violation may be unintentional.

8.3 If your account is limited due to suspected automated or abusive usage and you believe this to be an error, please contact us via our contact form — we will review your case promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Policy at any time to reflect changes in the Service, usage patterns, or applicable law. Changes become effective when posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
